Igor has practiced law in Europe and Australia and is fluent in both the English and Russian languages. Igor commenced with Doyle Wilson in 2003 and his principal focus and specialization is in the area of wills and estates, including all aspects of estate administration and contested estate litigation. Working at the coal face of estate litigation, Igor is acutely aware of the pitfalls that arise as a result of inadequate estate planning. Igor has a particular interest in elder law and has successfully represented the elderly against the imposed appointment of private financial managers at the NSW Guardianship Tribunal.

Igor’s practice naturally extends to family provision claims and family law litigation. Igor has successfully represented clients in the Supreme Court of NSW in complex cases seeking probate of informal wills and letters of administration under the law of intestacy. On many occasions the instructions to act were received from overseas based clients and the matters involved complex issues of the Australian and Russian laws.

In 2008 Igor joined the Sydney branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), based in London.

He has also successfully represented clients in criminal proceedings, including various types of driving offences. Igor also has experience in property law and commercial litigation.

While obtaining his Australian legal qualifications for practice, Igor worked as a licensed real estate agent with LJ Hooker for over 5 years. Here he obtained valuable experience in negotiating deals well in excess of a million dollars. This commercial experience is an advantage when representing clients in various matters, in particular commercial and property law matters.

Igor is a member of the Bar Choir which consists of Sydney lawyers and is led by the Honourable Justice Peter Hidden of the Supreme Court of NSW.

Igor is an elected member of the Executive Committee of the Law Society (City of Sydney) and Board of Directors of the Russian Club Limited (Strathfield).
