Lachlan Wilson BA LLB

Commercial law and rural property law is an area where Lachlan has proven expertise. He has advised on various commercial matters, from the purchase and sale of large commercial property involving water licences through to company restructuring. Lachlan grew up on a wheat property between Goondiwindi and Moree and knows the problems and issues facing rural communities and properties first hand. Lachlan has also worked in a number of rural legal practices in both NSW and QLD where he has gained valuable experience on rural legal issues which enables him to provide clients with practical advice.

Lachlan has over 20 years of valuable experience in litigation law where he has acted for insurance companies as well as plaintiffs. Lachlan’s litigation skills and experience were illustrated in a case where he obtained a $3M settlement for a child plaintiff whose claim had previously been rejected by two other legal firms. Lachlan litigation experience ranges from successfully prosecuting spray drift damages claims involving cotton growers to successfully resolving contractual and property disputes.

Lachlan relies on his extensive organisational and pragmatic dispute resolution skills in the management of large and complex litigation cases. He aims for an early resolution of disputes where appropriate and will use alternative dispute resolution methods if necessary.

Lachlan has taken great enjoyment in watching Doyle Wilson grow from a small sole practitioner practice before he joined, to a practice now employing staff in Goondiwindi, St George and Sydney. He has noticed that many clients who had previously used city law firms have now returned to use Doyle Wilson, which he sees as an indication of the high regard that the general community hold the firm.

Lachlan is married and has three children. He is a member of the Queensland and New South Wales Law Societies. In his younger days Lachlan played Rugby Union but now spends his time involved with various school activities and sports involving his children.
